Many Changes in September '09!

This month, we have several new updates to our website that we are officially announcing in September 2009. Some of these updates, you will see immediately and the others, you may not see so easily. The updates goes as followed:
New Front Page Photo: As you can see, the new photo is a picture of the current group, since the previous picture was out of date. This photo was taken on August 3, 2009, when we opened a concert featuring Daniel Morales and Hector Delgado.
New Survey Front Page Photo: We introduced our first survey 2005 to get feedback for "Llego Jesus." We then released a survey regarding "Vivire Solo Para Ti" several months after we released our CD in 2008. Now, we have two surveys available. One survey is to find out which song is the best from any of our CD's. The other is to get feedback from the you, the viewers, about our performances.
One Event per Page Video Directory: We are following our technique we used in our photo gallery section. We will no longer have ten videos on a single page. Instead, we will have a separate page per event, allowing for a bigger video size. The current video page has become a directory with links to each event, similar to the photo gallery.
RI on Social Networks: That is right, we are on Myspace and Facebook. Actually, we have been on those two networks since May 2009. We do not plan on having these two replacing this website but as an extension to what we already have. We will also not spent much time on these two networks with the exception of announcing press releases and updates, working similar to our blog.
Update to our Mobile Site: We introduced our mobile site earlier this year. We released two updates to our site and this will be our third. The most noticable change on the mobile site is the addition of the reservation form.

Roca Inmovible been Twitterized; Press Release Announced

Starting today, you will see the words "Retweet" on our site. This is due to the fact that we would not be where we are without your help. It was your comments and your recomendations that allowed us to be where we are. To continue this, we felt that using Twitter will allow you to keep doing what you do on the internet.
So what is Twitter? That is actually kind of hard to explain and there are many articles on the internet whose sole purpose is to explain what Twitter is. In my experience, Twitter is a social media, like Myspace and Facebook, that allows the user to publicize what they do during the day. Some may find it annoying and some may find it spamming. What we are using Twitter for is to broadcast updates to the website and when those updates are released.
The other news is the start of what we call, our "Press Release." The press release is very similar to our Blog with several key difference. The Blog features monthly updates of the website and after ten updates, the blog entree will be released. With the Press Release, we are expecting it to feature updates with the group itself and each entree will have their own permanent page. For more differences, you can check out our Press Release.

Busy Month Awaits Us in June!

At the moment, June seems to be our most busiest month so far. Not because there is currently five events for the entire month but that these five events are in three days. The first event of the month is a gala in Connecticut on June 6, 2009. This gala features guests Angel Luis Lopez and Johnny Gonzalez. Then on June 20, 2009, we have three events starting in the morning and ending at night. The following week on June 27, we will be performing at a private event. We will give you informed on other days that are big events.

Website Will Temporarily Shut Down!

We are announcing that from May 29 through May 31, the website will be offline. As you may know, the server for our website went down on May 3 and it caused an error when trying to view the site from www.rocainmovible.com. In order to fix this, we will be shutting and resetting the website. We can not guarantee that you will still be able to view our site through rocainmovible.0catch.com during this time however.

5 Years Online, Beta Version 2 Released

It was February 2004 when Roca Inmovible joined the online community by introducing www.rocainmovible.0catch.com. The website featured only four pages, including samples of songs showcasing "Llego Jesus," a page showing future events, and a map of where we played. Since then, Roca Inmovible bloomed over the years being visited in over 67 countries/territories and viewed by over 11,000 visitors. Also during this time, Roca Inmovible went through four different updates, each introducing new features, such as the photo galleries, online videos, an online store, online reservations, email newsletters, and a guestbook. Yet, the same features that were introduced five year ago are still present.
Our latest feature was introduced last month, Roca Inmovible for mobile viewers. Although it did not work the way we were hoping for, it still worked for some devices. This month, we have worked on it and now, we are releasing the second version of the Beta. Now, it should work properly for all mobile devices. Now, any visit to our site to any page will be redirected to a page suitable for mobile devices. Like last month, you can help by visiting our site on a mobile device and giving feedback by emailing us.

Beta Release, Mobile Devices Accessibility

Over the past couple of months, we have been testing our website on multiple browsers. Such browsers includes Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Chrome. However, there has been one browser that we have not fully tested our website on, the Mobile Device Browser. After doing a couple of test, we have noticed a few features that don't appear. One such feature is the photo galleries and the online videos.
With all that being said, we are doing a beta release for mobile devices. Only two pages have been modified to support mobile devices, the first being our homepage and the second being our first video page. If all works well during the month of February, we will be modifying many of our pages to be accessible for mobile devices. Please note that the changes will only affect those viewing our website through mobile devices and not those viewing from a computer.
Since it is difficult to do a test if you only have access to one company and phone, we are currently asking for your help. If you own a mobile device that has internet access and can visit such sites as Youtube and Google, here is how you can help. Type in www.rocainmovible.com and view the two pages mentioned earlier. Try to view the page and the videos. After you are done, feel free to visit the other pages and compare both version. When you are done, email us with the type of mobile device you used and any problems you may have seen.

A New Year With New Additions!

As we start 2009, we have a few announcments to announce. First off, we would like to introduce two of our newest members to Roca Inmovible, vocalist Elizabeth Donez and percussionist Jose Candelario Rivera. Jose Candelario Rivera's instrument will be mostly bongos but will also take some parts on the congas as well. We will shortly be adding there picture to our members page.
In other news, we have made three new additions to our video gallery. Two of the videos are archive videos. One features Rafael Davila performing one of his songs while the other involves a performance at the Convencion de Jovenes in New York. The third video is a newer video featuring both Elizabeth Donez and Jose Candelario Rivera performing with the band.

Seasons Greeting from Roca Inmovible!

The end of the year is fast approaching and we are pleased to announce that we are ending it with a blast. There will be several events from our local church that will be broadcast through our UStream page. Currently, we have three on schedule to be broadcast. The showings goes as followed:
Christmas Concert/Special Service: December 21, 2008 - 12:15pm
Christmas Service: December 24, 2008 - 7:45pm
New Year's Service: December 31, 2008 - 8:00pm
Three services may not be enough to end the year, however. In that case, there may be several other events added later and may included special performances. Make sure to come back a week before to see whether any more events are added or check on our UStream page or the UStream Channel for an updated schedule when it becomes available.
